Secretariat (03.30.1970 - 04.10.1989) was an American yoga pants racehorse (English thoroughbred), which in 1973. became the first champion Triple yoga pants Cup USA (US Triple Crown) after 25 years, setting yoga pants new records yoga pants in two of the three races in the series - Kentucky yoga pants Derby (1:59 2/5) and Belmont Stakes (2:24) - records that stand to this day.
Secretariat's father Bold Ruler (brave ruler) and mother Somethingroyal (Royal majesty) (grandmother's mother is Princequillo). He was born at Meadow Farm, Carolina County, Virginia. Like the equally famous horse Man o 'War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and he was given the same nickname - Big Red ("Big Red").
Owned by Penny Chenari (aka Penny Tweedy), he was trained by Lucien Laurent and ridden primarily by Canadian Ron Turcotte as well as novice jockey Paul Feliciano (first two races), and veteran Eddie Maple (last race of). He raced in the colors of the stable Penny Chenari (Meadow Stable) - blue and white, and his groom was Eddie Sweet. Secretariat was approximately 168 cm tall and weighed about 533 kg, in the prime of his career.
Origin story of Secretariat began with the toss of a coin in 1968. between Christopher Chenari of Meadow yoga pants STABLES and Ogden Phipps of Uetli Stable. The idea for the coin came from Phipps (owner of Bold Ruler) and Bull Hancock of Klearborn Farms as a way to get the best mares for Bold Rular; and when the coin fell on their side - to add successfully bred fillies to their own group of mares for breeding. Bold Rular was considered one of the most important stallions of his time. He possessed a good balance between yoga pants speed and endurance; had faster running style, but endurance to travel a mile and a quarter; finished third in the Kentucky Derby in 1957. Upon completion of his racing career, Bold Rular was retired in Klearborn Farms, but control over it still belonged to the family Pips. This meant that it could be used primarily for breeding mares Pips, and some of his horses were advertised for sale. Phipps and Hancock agreed to waive the fee for breeding Bald Rular in exchange yoga pants to keep one of two foals born from a mare mated in two successive seasons or two mares mated at the same time. What colt who would get the first or the right to make a choice, would be decided by lot by the coin toss.
In 1968. Chenari Bold Rular sent two mares named Matilda fast (Hasty Matelda) and Somethingroyal, and in 1969. the result was a colt and a female yoga pants horse. In 1969. Rapid Matilda was replaced by Cicada, but she conceived. The result was only a foal by Bold Ruler and Somethingroyal. As was stipulated yoga pants in the original agreement, the winner of throwing a coin could choose the horse you want, but you can only take one; while the loser would get the other two horses. Both sides assumed that Somethingroyal bear a healthy foal in the spring of 1970. Throwing yoga pants a coin between Penny Chenari yoga pants and Ogden Phipps was held in the autumn of 1969. in the office of the President of the New York Racing Association - Alfred Vanderbilt and in the presence yoga pants of Hancock as a witness.
